Great Adventure Bible Study

Is the Bible a mystery to you?

You’ve heard the stories all your life in Mass…does it make any sense?

If you know nothing about the Bible and wouldn’t know where to start in a Bible study…you can’t afford to miss The Great Adventure Series Bible Studies!

Did you know that the whole Bible tells a story?

  • It’s the true story of God and mankind.
  • A story of love, hatred, birth, death, temptation, rejection, betrayal and redemption.
  • It’s a story that’s thousands of years old…yet ever new.
  • It’s a story in which all of us can find our place in the universe, our place in the world, our place in life.
  • It’s the story of Salvation History.

Holy Cross offers an amazing experience in Catholic Bible Study, The Great Adventure. It’s a study that allows you to read through the entire story of the Bible, from beginning to end, in 24 weeks.

How? There are 14 out of the 73 books of the Bible that tell the narrative thread of the Bible…the story!

By concentrating on these 14 “narrative” books, participants come to understand the “big picture” of Salvation History and so better understand God and the very meaning of life.

The Great Adventure is a system of three foundation studies:

Step One: The Bible Timeline: provides a clear understanding of the underlying Scriptural narrative, which is essential to all Bible reading and study.

Step Two: The Book of Matthew: Building directly on the foundation laid in The Bible Timeline, Step Two in The Great Adventure Bible Study Series, Matthew: The King and His Kingdom, shows how Jesus builds on the foundation laid in the Old Testament to inaugurate the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

Step Three: The Book of Acts: Acts builds on The Bible Timeline and Matthew by showing how Christ’s Kingdom on earth is empowered to carry out his work in the world. The book of Acts shows the Church, enlivened by the Holy Spirit, teaching, preaching, healing, and restoring outcasts in the same way that Jesus did on earth.

With these three studies, you get the complete and comprehensive overview of the entire story of the Bible…the story of what God has done and is doing in our world.

After the foundation studies, additional studies continue to deepen your knowledge and understanding.
