About Holy Cross
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a Catholic parish located in Champaign, Illinois, and part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peoria, dedicated to worship, faith formation, and service to the community. The parish centers its life on the celebration of the Mass and the sacraments, while offering ministries, outreach programs, and opportunities for parishioners of all ages to grow in their faith. Through prayer, education, and charitable service, the parish works to foster a welcoming Catholic community rooted in the teachings of the Church.
Holy Cross is also home to Holy Cross Catholic School, which provides a faith-centered education that integrates academic excellence with Catholic values. The school serves students from early childhood through the elementary grades, emphasizing spiritual development, strong academics, and character formation. Students participate in daily prayer and religious instruction while benefiting from a well-rounded curriculum that prepares them for continued academic success.
The parish and school operate under the spiritual leadership of the Diocese and its bishop, Bishop Louis Tylka. Locally, the parish is guided by its pastor and supported by dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff who work together to support the mission of Catholic education and parish life. Through this leadership structure, Holy Cross remains connected to the broader mission of the Catholic Church while serving the spiritual and educational needs of families in the community.
