5.8 MILE

Fr. Joe is organizing a 5.8 mile WALKING PILGRIMAGE between all 5 Catholic churches in Champaign-Urbana on Saturday morning March 28 from 7:30am to noon, the day before Palm Sunday. If you like walking or exercising and want to do something crazy for God this Lent, consider joining! We’ll begin with the normal morning 7am Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, will leave from St. Matthew’s around 8am, walking to Holy Cross, then Saint Mary Catholic Church, followed by St. John's Catholic Newman Center, before finally concluding at St Patrick's Catholic Church. 5 decades of the Rosary will be said in the final four churches. In total, all 20 mysteries will be said. You are welcome to join in the church to pray if you’re not planning to walk. The estimated arrival at the four churches is as follows: Holy Cross at 9am, St. Mary’s at 9:55am, St. John’s at 10:40am, and St. Patrick’s at 11:35am. Join for any or all as you are able! Before we begin cars will be driven to St. Patrick so pilgrims can have a ride back to their own vehicles at St. Matthew once the pilgrimage is finished.
